WEST INDIES SCORE 279

West Indies score 279 in a 2-day drawn match

     LAHORE, Nov 9 (APP)- West Indies batsman Dwayne Bravo got needed batting practice ahead of the fist test by smashing an enterprising century (108) against Patrons XI on the final day of the two-day drawn practice match here on Thursday.

     Bravo was in a superb form which he showed by hammering  2 mighty sixes and 15 sizzling fours as fading brought a premature end to the game as 14.3 overs were to be bowled.

     West Indies were 279 for 5 in 68.3 overs. Earlier the home side declared their first innings at their overnight

score of 305 for 4 in 77 overs.

     Bravo who retired out consumed 114 deliveries shared 120 runs for the 4th wicket along with Lendi Simmons (40 with 6 fours).

       Under cloudy conditions, the touring side received 50 runs for the opening stand through Daren Ganga (42 with 6 boundaries) and Runako Morton (21) bowled by paceman Shahid

Nazir who got one wicket for 33 runs in 11 overs.

      West Indies lost second at 83 when Ganga was caught in slips by Misbah off fast bowler Irshad. The third

batsman out was Ramnaresh Sarwan (29) caught behind by Akhtar off the bowling of medium pacer Akhtar. Lendi Simmons (40 including  six fours) was bowled by Rehman.

       The scoreboards Patrons XI 1st innings (declared at overnight score of 305) in

77 overs.
