Another citizen of Trinidad and Tobagojoins WICB
Another citizen of Trinidad and Tobago,Anthony (Tony) Deyal has been appointed Corporate Services Manager (CSM) of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) with effect from September 1, 2006.
It has been advertised that the new post of CSM will include the responsibility for the functions of Corporate Secretary, Corporate Communications, Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations. Sounds like a lot!
Apparently Deyal has considerable management experience at national, regional and international levels.
Many of you may not know that he was most recently Public Education and Outreach Specialist (PEOS) of the Belize-based World Bank/ CARICOM Mainstreaming Adaptation to Climate Change (MACC) Project which covers the 12 English-speaking Caribbean countries.
If we trace his career- From 1992 - 1998, he was the Media/Communications Advisor of the Pan American Health Organization/ World Health Organisation in the Caribbean, and subsequently Corporate Communications Manager at the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago (PETROTRIN).
WICB reports that "he is also a columnist for several newspapers in the region and a passionate West Indies cricket fan. "(who isn't?)
Mr. Deyal reportedly commented, "I really believe this is a crucial period for West Indies cricket and that I can add value to the efforts of the WICB and all the other stakeholders to take our game back to the top of the world where it rightly belongs." He quipped, "Besides, I always wanted a job that allows me to watch cricket without feeling guilty about it." (who wouldn't?)
Deyal joins , one of our favorites - Barry Thomas ( Financial Controller) and as well as Ken Gordon ( President ) as other citizens of Trinidad and Tobago involved in West Indies cricket.
