ANDY ROBERTS HAS HIS HANDS FULL

WEST INDIES CRICKET LEGEND Andy Roberts is about to take on another major role in the game.
The Antiguan, who in his playing days took 202 wickets in 47 Tests, will from today join the team of the 2007 International Cricket Council World Cup (CWC) as a pitch consultant.
He was slated to be part of the CWC's venue audit team which was due to have a look at facilities in Grenada yesterday.
Today the team is due to visit Guyana, and in following days Trinidad and Antigua. They will be in Jamaica next week.
"Andy will be playing a crucial role as one who knows the game really well and also understands pitches," confirmed Don Lockerbie, the CWC's venue development director, after a tour of Kensington Oval on Monday.
"Andy will bring a strong West Indian presence to the pitch assessments of our venues. His role will be a crucial one and we are delighted to have him on board."
Efforts to reach Roberts over the past four days have been unsuccessful.
He did not make the trip to Barbados for Monday's assessment, as he was attending the emergency board meeting of the Stanford 20/20 cricket legends in Antigua.
Roberts has been chief curator at the Antigua Recreation Ground for over a decade. During this period the ground has had record scores, with Brian Lara making 375 and 400 not out to break the world record Test score twice.
Roberts is also in charge of pitch and field preparation at the Stanford Cricket Ground, which recently hosted the Stanford 20/20 Cricket Tournament.
The 55-year-old Roberts is currently a West Indies selector. He is a former West Indies coach and also acted as bowling coach of the Bangladesh team.
