Caledonia and Army to clash in FA Trophy
Issued on November 1, 2007
The second round of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Federation FA Trophy will play off on November 11 with Pro League campaigners Caledonia AIA and Defence Force set to battle it out in one of the key fixtures.
Both teams learnt of the encounter after the draw took place at the TTFF head offices on Dundonald Street, Port of Spain on Thursday.
With last year’s champions WASA FC already booted out, the remaining teams are keeping an eye on the trophy.
Joe Public will meet Economy Strikers at 3:30 pm at the Brooklyn Grounds while CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh will face M&M Real Maracas United. W Connection takes on Sanuva FC and North East Stars come up against Palo Seco SC.
Caledonia chairman Brian Lewis, who was at the draw, said he thought he would have brought better luck for the club.
“I thought maybe coming here would have brought good luck but it didn’t seem so, he said with a laugh. “It’s definitely the key match up in the next stage and we will have to go all out to keep our chances alive. The FA Trophy is always a key tournament and we will hopefully get past this round,” Lewis said.
