Bailey chuffed with CA contract
South Australian leg spinner Cullen Bailey says he is delighted to have won an Australian contract.
Bailey joins other new faces Chris Rogers, Ben Hilfenhaus, James Hopes and Adam Voges on the 25-man national contract list.
Jason Gillespie has retained his contract while Cameron White has been included after missing out last year.
It is a double celebration for Bailey who was married at the weekend.
"It's been a massive week, obviously getting married on Sunday was really exciting and then to find out the news today has also been just been amazing," he said.
"Obviously little things like this are just a great stepping stone, so to just get the opportunity is just fantastic. I wasn't expecting it, to get the call was just really exciting."
Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Damien Martyn and Justin Langer have all retired, while Michael Kasprowicz and Simon Katich have not had their contracts renewed.
22-year-old Bailey is the youngest in the group and chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch thinks he could be part of the squad for years to come.
"It's obviously a selection for the future, we think he's made really good progress over the past couple of years," Hilditch said.
"He's an outstanding young man which, again, moving forward with Australian cricket that's going to be very important that they fit the criteria that we want for the members of the team and he fits it perfectly."
