PRO LEAGUE CHAIRMAN PRAISES TOYOTA CLASSIC

TT Pro League Chairman Larry Romany is anticipating a high quality and entertaining Toyota Classic final. Romany said that both Superstar Rangers and United Petrotrin are teams with strong community support and the players and respective coaches will be highly motivated “to seize the day and rise to the occasion”.

Romany is also of the view that the absence of the so called “big names” is an indication that the standard of football in the TT Pro league is improving to the point that complacency and self satisfaction on the part of any club will prove detrimental.”

“We created competitions such as the Toyota Classic to foster and maintain season long interest and motivation for the teams as it is important that they view ongoing improvement as an imperative”.

The TT Proleague has big dreams and a big vision and Romany remains resolute in his conviction that the league is on the right course.”Establishing the change in culture is evolutionary. Day by day the players and coaches are coming around to the acceptance of what is really required to fulfill their potential and that professionalism is an attitude more than anything else. Teams across the board are putting in the administrative and technical infrastructure necessary to achieve sustainable success in professional football”

Noting that the Toyota Classic is growing in stature every year Romany credited Toyota for sharing and appreciating the vision of the Pro League and Super League for the competition format.
